Website Grand Opening: Tomorrow!

Our new and improved website will be having a grand opening tomorrow, July 1st. I can't say it's going to debut because it's been developed and uploaded before your eyes the past 2 weeks, but everything will come together tomorrow!

Our goal with the website was to simplify everything for our current clients as well as our new and perspective clients. Allow our visitors to have an experience when they come to our site. I think we have achieved that.

When I set out on this rebuild I focused on 5 things:

1) Don't be wordy!

2) Create an experience when viewing our samples!

3) Draw in our audience.

4) Get people talking to us.

5) Less is more!

These 5 things are what I felt our previous website lacked. I feel our new site achieves each of these goals in a variety of ways.

1) Don't be wordy!

Our previous site was very, very wordy. Each page you could have said was a blog by it's own. If I was a perspective client, I realized I would lose interest if I had to read all of that to understand what this company was about.

In our new site, I kept it simple. I decided that everyone who is visiting our site is already educated that they are looking for broadcast/video services so I don't need to tell them what I do, other than show them that, this is what we do. Visual stimulation I felt was the biggest key for our site visitors!

Where I decided being wordy was the best thing was blogging. For me, this blog has been a great outlet for my need to be wordy and gab, haha! Plus, it allows visitors to understand how we think and allow people to connect with us in other levels beyond a client/service provider relationship!

2) Create an experience when viewing our samples!

With video, showing off samples is key. On our old site, I had embedded videos everywhere to show off our work and it took awhile to be able to see everything because everything was scattered everywhere. This often translated to a loss of interest quickly.

With the new site, I setup player templates that created a viewer experience where everything is located in one place. The viewer can select a video from a reel of 3-5 videos depending on the subject to check out our quality and style.

We also created a theater room where clients can go and see the latest we have produced and just simply watch for their own enjoyment and curiosity.

3) Draw in our audience.

Drawing in our audiences are always the biggest things that businesses are trying to accomplish with their websites. More traffic, the more clients. It's the tired and true thinking of business websites. I can't lie that we are not different on that front. We are like any other business where we want to grow and expand.

So to draw people in, the big key is create a visually stimulating site and a tool to draw viewers in! One way, is through this blog right here. Blogs are a great way for visitors to learn about us as a company and as us as individuals through our thought processes and ideas.

Another way to draw in the audience we put in place a background video to show off what we do... video and broadcast production! I could go into the psychology of this in-depth, but for simplicity sake, it reinforces who we are through the visual stimulation of the background video.

4) Get people talking to us.

For us as a company, forming relationships is the biggest value to us as a company. Relationships are sustaining and long-term because it means for our clients, that we are the company of choice for them! Majority of our business structure relies on these relationships. We are not a one and done shop.

So we are creating more ways for people to reach out to us and interact. We have contact links via phone and email, as well as contact us form. We also added a chat function so site visitors can talk with us directly during available hours from 10-6 everyday. Not sure if it will be ready by tomorrow, but we are also looking at adding a meeting scheduler where perspective clients and even current clients can schedule a zoom meeting with us! Yes, we love Zoom ;)

5) Less is more!

All of this culminates with the idea of Less is more! As you can see in the thinking throughout, we have the belief that if we put less information on the site that we are actually giving you more information. Weird concept I know, but I don't need to tell you what you already know. If you visit us, looking for broadcast or video production services, you already have some idea of what you are looking for so I wanted a site that is tailored for viewers to reach out and see if we are the right fit. I feel the Less Is More method achieves just that.

Tomorrow, our new site has it's grand opening! I welcome anyone who has a video or broadcast idea to reach out to us. I promise you will like the Skeeterbuggins Difference!
